HKIOT Hand Therapy Workshop for Occupational Therapists in
Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Institute of Occupational Therapy will
organise a 9-days Hand Therapy Workshop from 1 to 9 March
2008 in Shenzhen, Mainland China. This is the fifth workshop
of such kind organised by HKIOT for Mainland China hand
surgeon, and therapists who like to learn occupational
therapy knowledge and skills for patients with various hand
conditions. This year, besides experienced therapists from
HKIOT, we have invited two renounced overseas therapists to
teach in the workshop. Mr.
Marc BLIJ, Product Specialist Physical Rehabilitation &
Orthotics, ORFIT Industries, will conduct a 2-days program
on theory and practice on static and dynamic splints.
Bedsides lectures and demonstration, there will be abundant
time for participants to practice fabrication of various
kinds of splints. Ms Ceri PULHAM, an Australian occupational
therapist and hand therapists, Ms Eva Ma, Senior
occupational therapist, QEH, and Mr. K F Leung,
Vice-Chairman of HKIOT, will lecture on the management of
complex hand conditions, including brachial Plexus injury,
various conditions of the elbow, digital and hand replant,
degloved injury, stiff hands, rheumatoid hand, and infected
hands.
This year, HKIOT decided to open the following parts of the
hand therapy workshop to young therapists from Hong Kong.
